The Youth Department at WOCC is designed to teach youth the Word of God on a level that they can relate to, but first, we must get their attention and then hold their interest. The following are youth events that are a part of our vision for reaching our children and youth.

WOCC Sunday School:

Classes are held each Sunday morning from 9:45 until 10:45 for ages:

25 +
18 to 25
13 to 17
6 to 12
3 to 5
Nursery

Each class is taught by anointed teachers who teach lessons on God’s word with simplicity and accuracy according to the level of understanding of their students.

WOCC Dance Ministry:

WOCC's Liturgical Dance Team was formed in 2000 and has grown to include many of our Youth. Sometimes even boys participate in certain performances, but mostly girls make up the dance teams. Individual dances are also done by our youth as directed by our Dance Ministry Leader.

Our dance ministry ministers at special events at our church and many times travel to minister at other community and church events.

WOCC Vacation Bible School:

Each year in June, we plan a whole week of activities for the Youth in our church and in our community. Included in these nightly sessions are class instruction in God’s word, outside play time, music class, arts & crafts, and refreshments. On the last night, the community is invited to a cookout and presentation by each age group which includes a summary of the week’s lessons, a performance of the new music they have learned, and an exhibit of the arts & crafts they have made.

WOCC Spring Fling :

Each year in the month of May WOCC sponsors an event we have titled " Spring Fling." At this event, we serve hot dogs chips, cookies, and drinks in a relaxed atmosphere. We invite guest dance groups, step teams, and youth music groups. We give away prizes to the youth that answer trivia questions correctly and we just have fun!

WOCC Back To School Celebration:

Youth at our church and in our community are invited to this celebration where we have fun playing games, eating goodies, and giving away FREE school supplies!

WOCC Summer Excursion:

Trips to Carowinds, King's Dominion, the Water Park, the Beach and other vacation spots are sponsored by WOCC for our youth.

WOCC Children’s Ministry:

Currently during our worship service, there is time out for special ministry to the youth ages 1 to 12. The ministry leader teaches the children a three to five minute lesson on a special topic on their level. The children love the fact that each child gets the opportunity to say a bible verse in the microphone.

WOCC Youth Choir:

WOCC Youth Choir minister each first and second Sunday during our worship services and for special events at out church and in our community. They are accompanied by youth musicians in our church and directed by Candace Barnes.

WOCC Drama Ministry:

WOCC Drama teams incorporates both our youth and our adults in sponsoring our Christmas and Easter Dramatic Presentation.
